Our engagement was officially sealed over a heart-shaped watermelon steak at the restaurant 51 Lincoln Street, Newton, MA.  The first time Becky espied the delicacy, she whispered, “I can’t eat this! It’s a slab of meat covered in cream and cheese!”  Wrong she was!  Watermelon steak is actually watermelon that has been braised for 2.5 hours in sherry cream sauce, then seared and blackened.  It looks like steak.  It tastes like steak.  But, it is watermelon.  We hope to serve it at our wedding.  It will blow your mind.  

We wish that we had taken a picture of the beautiful heart-shaped watermelon steak that was served to us, but when Becky asked Alex to pull out his camera-phone, he pulled out a ring box instead.  The restaurant clapped, and the photo was forgotten as we devoured our dish.
