The organization that helped Yuli Wexler leave the Soviet Union to come to The United States where he met Martha and raised Becky. Yuli is now on their Board of Directors (full disclosure :) ). The organization also helped Yury and Inna, Alex's parents, come to this country along with many other Jews escaping anti-semitism. HIAS now assists refugees and immigrants of all backgrounds.
